Discover the story behind the woman who transformed American home baking through precision, science, and fearless innovation.

In Ma Vie en Rose (My Sweet Life), Rose Levy Beranbaum shares her deeply personal journey from a sensitive, food-averse child in postwar New York to the pioneering author of The Cake Bible--the groundbreaking work that introduced standardized weights, ingredient science, and techniques like reverse creaming to generations of home bakers. Along the way, she also designed innovative precision equipment, further advancing accuracy and confidence in the kitchen.

Perfect for devoted bakers, culinary history enthusiasts, and readers who love stories of reinvention, this memoir reveals how discipline, curiosity, and quiet determination built a lasting legacy in American kitchens. Interwoven throughout are vivid time capsules of the events and icons who shaped the food world, alongside signature recipes -- some beloved classics, others published here for the first time -- presented in full detail for home bakers ready to bake with precision and confidence.

Inside, you'll find recipes like:

• Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake
