A Special Kind of Heartache: A cozy mystery rooted in the South Carolina Lowcountry - Hardcover

by Laura Elizabeth (Author)

Welcome back to Mongin Island, the South Carolina Lowcountry home of Carr Jepson and her cozy Books & Brew bookstore, where tourists and long-time residents mingle over bestsellers, hot tea, and the latest island gossip.

In the second installment of The Island Mysteries, Carr Jepson, Mongin Island's amateur sleuth, and her friends are beginning to prepare for cooler days and fewer tourists. But things change quickly with the arrival of a girls' trip vacationing at the cozy Rosemont Inn, an artist who uses the island's beautiful water views as inspiration for his latest project, and a career coach who seems to be interested in more than professional development. Could the vibrant residents who call this place home and the nearby bustling quaint harborside stores shed light on what was found in the nearby dune grass? Carr will soon understand that truly being part of the Mongin Island community means she will have to rely on other people and put her helpful investigation skills to the test.

"Mongin Island sounds like a delightful place to live and visit. A beachy vibe with southern hospitality and charm. ... I can't wait for more stories from The Island Mysteries," writes Cynthia W. in her online review of Book #1, All Is Now Lost.

Readers nationwide are eager for their return trip to this beautiful spot in the Atlantic. Sheila wrote, "Best book I've read in a while! Laura Elizabeth paints a picture with words to transport you and your senses to this wonderful island and its cast of characters. Well written, thoroughly enjoyable. I can't wait for book #2."
