From Paris, with Butter - Hardcover

by Christine DeSalvo (Author)

One hundred and eighty-seven. That's how many proposals Margot Delcour has witnessed as a waitress at Le Jules Verne, the Eiffel Tower's famed restaurant and one of the most popular proposal spots on the planet. For half a decade, Margot has devoted herself to creating swoon-worthy engagements at work and indulging her love of baking on her days off, making rainbow-colored macarons, squashy eclairs, flaky ham and cheese croissants... (And that's just what she bakes in a weekend.) No one would ever guess that her own love life is in shambles.

Laurent Roche is a grumpy perfectionist who claims he can't so much as boil an egg. When he moves in next door, Margot initially plans on giving him nothing more than a polite greeting and a plate of brown butter madeleines. That's fine with Laurent. He moved to Paris to recover from a disastrous breakup and couldn't be less interested in meeting anyone. But when Laurent admits that he abandoned a career as a famed chef, Margot realizes she's not the only person putting the pieces of her life back together.

Margot and Laurent know by now that getting close to someone is a recipe for disaster, but when Margot is asked to bake desserts for the same charity gala Laurent is volunteering at, their cooking sessions turn into something far more smoldering. Despite their best intentions, Margot and Laurent find themselves falling for each other. Being a culinary dream team is easy, but Margot and Laurent's old wounds can't stay hidden forever. And when their pasts come to light, the fallout will put into jeopardy the sweet future they deserve.
