My Lady - Hardcover

by Diane David (Author)

Goodreads Kindle Book Award Nominee for Romance (2024).

Their union was forbidden, but fate had other plans in store...

Kidnapped as an infant in an act of revenge, Meghan never knew of her noble birth, only of the blacksmith and his wife who raised her. Later, when she is older, she is once again separated from her family and must enlist the aid of Lord Aurick to help her return to her home.

When the chivalrous knight allowed the beautiful girl to travel under his protection, he never imagined it would be she who would play the protector when traitorous members of his own party attacked. Her quick thinking saved his life, and to repay her, he promised to take her to his home as men searched for her missing father.

But as their bond deepens, Meghan finds herself torn between her growing affection for Lord Aurick and the knowledge that their love is forbidden. She had always been content with her humble upbringing until the handsome knight came into her life. Now she knows she must leave, and quickly, before she falls even deeper in love with him.

Meanwhile, Aurick finds himself wrestling with the conflicting demands of duty and desire. He never intended to fall in love with the spirited girl who saved his life, but Meghan was different than any other woman he had ever known. Her beauty made her hard to resist, but it was her courage and strength that had seeped into his soul, making it impossible for him to let her go.

A sensual, happily ever after romance. My Lady is a stand-alone medieval tale (for now) for readers who enjoy Johanna Lindsey and Judith McNaught.

"Love blooms against the odds as Meghan and Aurick defy societal constraints and face perilous enemies in a tale of passion, intrigue, and resilience." -NewInBooks.com
