Quiet Storms of a Flawda Girl's Diary: Some Almost Entirely Untrue Short Stories - Hardcover

by Sh' Kia (Author)

In this author's debut, Sh'Kia draws from her experiences growing up in a small town in Florida and her fascination with A Writer's Diary by Virginia Woolf, The Vagina Monologues, and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf to express the inner thoughts most black women may never get to share out loud in these almost entirely untrue short stories.

"Quiet Storms of a Flawda Girl's Diary" is a collection of 13 short stories where girls of the 20th and 21st centuries profess their most provocative passions and irreverent notions in writing about their seemingly pedestrian lives in Florida's sunny, muggy, obscure neck of the woods.

In these bizarre, titillating, and forthright stories, you'll experience the recollections of a church girl's unrest with fornication, a female rapper's rocky road to the billboard charts, a vexatious pregnancy journey, a turbulent quest to marriage, a First Lady's disconcerting crusade at a new church, a Grandmother's exorcism and more!
