Sons of the Ambrose - Hardcover

by Cearan Henley (Author)

Sons of the Ambrose is the intriguing story of a gifted and wealthy family that traces its ancestors and wealth back to the time of Julius Caesar's rise to power. Cyriacus and heirs that follow must use their wits to protect the family and its growing wealth from those who would destroy them. The family's empathic gifts and practice of living quietly and modestly help protect them until the mid-1800s. Gilland and William Ambrose sever ties with Jacamello Grossini because of Grossini's theft from their mining partnership. Grossini's vow of revenge for being cut out of fabulous profits from the platinum mines follows the family into modern times. The Ambrose, always watchful before, are now in greater danger and become more reclusive after many of the male heirs in the family are murdered. Years of quiet living bring the family safely into the 20th century. Then dangers increase when young Conrad Ambrose publishes a novel, not realizing the story is really the history of his family. To fend off attacks from the house of Grossini, the Ambrose family unite behind Great-aunt Agathe Ambrose, Conrad, and Conrad's partner, Anthony Holt. The ancient family's supernatural abilities that have kept them safe since the fall of Rome are put to the ultimate test as Conrad's own psychic and empathic powers continue to increase. Enter a handsome and cool teenager named Jackson Haynes Van Keele. A direct descendant of both families, he begins to win gymnastic competitions with stunning success even though he is unaware of the origin of the power he possesses. As if by prophecy, Jackson joins the Ambrose as the only known "traveler", meaning that he has mastered the art of teleportation. With the family's help, he fights the Grossinis on their own level and changes the lives of both families, forever.
