He's been MIA for 50 years, and his granddaughter is going to bring him home before her Gran's mind forgets him.

1969 Martin Carter's plan is to survive his tour in Vietnam and return to his wife and newborn daughter. He refused his commission to keep from lying to his men but ultimately leads his team to help a small group of villagers. He must find the soldiers running drugs through the camp before he can safely get home.

2019 Robin Carter's plan is to care for her grandmother and restart her career after a disastrous divorce. Martin's footlocker is unexpectedly delivered to their home--50 years after he went missing in action.Despite warnings from the Army, she determines to find the grandfather she never knew before her grandmother's memories fade.

It takes a musical band of Vietnam Vets, a hunky photojournalist, some Vietnam refugees, and even her ex-husband to help uncover the conspiracy that left Martin buried in a field in Southeast Asia.

This heart-wrenching saga of broken promises, starting over, and love lasting half a century unearths the lasting impact of lies and how the love of family can overcome time and place.

The Broken Hallelujah is a multiple award-winning novel and a #1 audiobook. The story travels back and forth in time, much as Rhys Bowen's characters in The Tuscan Child, and Lily Graham's in The Last Restaurant in Paris.

Join Martin and his team in the steamy jungles of Vietnam and live with Robin in her Houston garden with her feisty Gran, scheming ex, and the photographer with the sexy smile. It's a race against the mental ravages of time and the bureaucracy of two former warring nations.
