What would you do to protect the lives of the ones you love? The Pearl is the third book in the Child of the King series. The Pearl takes Anya and her companions to another nation in her world, The Islands. The Pearl begins with Anya and her companions being saved from pirates by the mysterious sea captain of the Respice ad Bonum. Later, on the main island, Tradail, she heals the son of one of Drocha's captains, Comyn, who pledges allegiance to the King and fights to protect her from those in the island nation who would take her life. Anya has a premonition of a calamity that threatens to destroy the nation. She risks her life to save a group of children from a giant wave but must watch as her horse, Niveus, is swept out to sea. Finally, the island adventure provides healing for Eamon's troubled past. Dr. James H.
