The Isle of Mull Murders - Hardcover

by Daniel Sellers (Author)

An ancient Scottish castle.

A storm setting in for Christmas.

A killer on the loose.

Investigating a suspicious death at ancient Dumfala castle on the remote Isle of Mull is not what DI Anna Vaughan had planned this Christmas. But when she receives the call on Christmas Eve, she is duty bound to make the treacherous trip to investigate.

But it soon becomes clear the estate's obsessive owner, Robert Fairlie, is more concerned with safeguarding his lucrative contract for a hit American TV show to be filmed at the castle than with the death of one of his employees. And as Anna turns to the locals for answers, she's instead faced with an eclectic cast of suspects who seem no more welcoming than Fairlie himself...

Trapped on the estate and cut off from mainland by a fierce winter blizzard, Anna and local DS Lachlan McKay are left completely on their own to catch the killer and untangle the web of secrets that have shrouded this isolated community for years. The question is, can Anna uncover the truth before more people lose their lives?

Praise for the series:

'A fascinating page-turner featuring a well-drawn collection of characters set in a small Scottish community. The newly promoted inspector is sympathetic and smart, and the plot kept me fully engaged throughout. Highly recommended.' - T. A. Williams

'Daniel Sellers has pulled off that rare trick of peppering the glorious Argyll landscape with characters we're sure we've known all of our lives. His writing is engaging, clever and quietly compelling. I can't wait to read more of this series.' - Marion Todd

'Daniel Sellers writes with rare control and confidence - his prose is atmospheric, unsettling, and beautifully precise, turning The Knapdale Murders into a masterclass in tension, character, and slow-burn dread.' - John Nicholl

'I loved this book! The first in a new series, The Knapdale Murders is a gripping read. With a compelling central character, a strong sense of place and a denouement worthy of Christie herself, this is perfect for all crime fiction fans.' - Sheila Bugler

'This is my kind of crime thriller! A love a puzzle to solve and this book provided that. A knotty mystery, with prickly suspects and a murder victim who nobody liked. Cleverly written, an absorbing read that I whizzed through in a couple of days. Ready for the next one!' - Rona Halsall
