One moment Madeline Jones has it all: a family she adores, a job she loves as an elementary school librarian, and a luxurious home with a breathtaking view overlooking West Sturgeon lake.

Now, almost a year after a terrible tragedy split up her family and left her divorced and broken, she must return to work and face her old life she no longer recognizes. Even more horrifying, her ex-husband has now officially taken over the school principal role and is now her new boss. She returns to the secret pond, hidden in the woods down the street from her work, where she finds solace in her happy family memories spent there together through the years.

Her co-worker and best friend, Whitney will do anything she can to help Maddy heal her broken heart. She convinces Maddy to agree to follow her instructions in a series of letters that will bring her out of her comfort zone and lead her to stand in front of a tough crowd to practice her dream of being a stand-up comedian. They also lead her to meet a handsome rock climbing instructor that just happens to fall head over heels for her. The Memories We Keep, is a journey of self-discovery and taking chances. It will make you laugh one minute and have you reaching for a tissue the next. It is a story of the depths of love and the pain and happiness that comes with living.
