The Men in the Walls: A Positronic Book - Hardcover

by William Tenn (Author)

William Tenn's The Men in the Walls is a brilliant and darkly imaginative work of classic science fiction that explores survival, evolution, and the strange destinies of humanity. First published in the mid-twentieth century, Tenn's story combines speculative invention with sharp psychological insight, creating a haunting vision of a distant and unsettling future.

In a far-future world where humanity has long since fallen from its former heights, small tribes of people survive in the ruins of ancient structures. Living within the walls of vast abandoned buildings, these remnants of humanity have adapted to a strange new existence, scavenging and struggling to endure in an environment shaped by forgotten technology and lurking dangers.

As the story unfolds, Tenn reveals the shocking truth behind this altered world and the forces that have reshaped the human race. What begins as a tale of primitive survival gradually expands into a powerful reflection on civilization, decline, and the unpredictable paths of human evolution.

Blending suspense, satire, and speculative imagination, The Men in the Walls stands as one of William Tenn's most memorable contributions to science fiction and a striking example of the genre's ability to explore profound questions about humanity's future.
