The Settling Place - Hardcover

by Ann Rauscher Smith Hagler (Author)

E.W. Rauscher, the preeminent merchant of his small hometown of Erin, Tennessee, has always felt a comfortable level of self-confidence. But when his motives are called into question, in the middle of a Sunday morning worship service of all places, E.W. begins to ruminate on the people and events that led him to this particular place and time. What results is the story of a family, the heartbreaks and successes that color their days, and the unavoidable tragedy about to befall them. Based on true events, Ann Rauscher Smith Hagler tells the story of her own family, taking a tragedy and pulling together the scraps it made of so many lives and transforming them into a transcendent family saga, a testament to the power of family and grace.
