The Witch-Hunt - Hardcover

by Neil R. McLaughlin (Author), Michelle P. McLaughlin (Editor)

Sixteenth century Scotland is in the grip of a witch hunt, a bloody campaign fuelled by the greed of the King and his corrupt courts, where his own version of the grand European witch hunt that burned 60,000 innocent women at the stake, was orchestrated. Their trials were "rigged" and charges against them of heresy and witchcraft ensured that after their execution, their wealth was claimed by the King.

The chilling truth was unopposed until our protagonist Amaranth witnessed the murders of her mother and father, the King's chief advisor. She then dedicated herself to finding her parents murderers and ending the witch hunt.

As Amaranth's crusade unfolds, strange and unexpected supernatural powers awakened within her, pointing to a dark secret buried in her past, one that could not only upend the witch trials but also made her a supremely powerful enemy of the King.

In this gripping supernatural thriller, full of duplicity and twists of fate, vengeance collides with destiny, and one woman's fight for justice has the potential to reshape history in her image. Amaranth rises up against this oppression and discovers that in her passion to bring truth to her life, she is tormented by the bloodlines of her family.
