Trouble Weighs a Ton - Hardcover

by Mark Atley (Author), Laura Mita (Editor)

Real love, much like the justice system, is messy.

Fresh out of jail, Russell Siriano, boss of the Siriano Organization, is kidnapped. He was supposed to be safe in U.S. Marshal Kelly Chambers's custody. Now it's her responsibility to solve the strange crime. Using the lessons Kelly's "Uncle" Frank taught her, she knows she must track down the perpetrators before the Siriano family finds them first.

While Kelly navigates media embarrassment and accidentally falls for the only reporter willing to hear her side of the story, rival crime boss Pablo Jimenez takes control of the Siriano Family's neighborhood. As Pablo seeks to establish himself as a leader, second-in-command Flavia Sanchez fears Pablo is forcing them in the wrong direction. He's made the first move in a war they're not prepared to win.

Close by, Maurizio "Maggie" DiMaggio was only back to sniff out a rat, but with his mentor missing, the loyal henchman vows to bring his boss home. Will Maggie call off the search when a dark secret comes to the surface or will unconventional justice take down Russell Siriano before anyone else has a chance?

"Trouble Weighs a Ton," the much anticipated follow-up to "Too Late to Say Goodbye" in the Tulsa Underwood Trilogy, is a gritty and suspenseful crime novel about family and fatherhood. It answers the question: How far are people really willing to go for the ones they love?
